Whenever someone mentions Ibiza in any context, what you immediately think of is music, parties, drinking, and dancing, right? It is an island where no matter how old you are you get to have fun, forget about stress and dance it off. Clubs are working almost all night and a part of the day but the music is never-ending. It sounds like you need to have a lot of energy to endure the whole experience as it is supposed to be but we don’t agree. Gather around as we tell you a story about 5 things to do in Ibiza that don’t include clubs and dancing!

  • Get to know the locals and their culture. We bet you didn’t know that more than 50% of people in Ibiza are born on the island but the other half are coming from the mainland or the rest of the world. Try finding the half that was born there and maybe, but just maybe you get to hear an interesting story that will take you back in time. For example, dancing is a cultural thing but how familiar is the information that Ball Pagès is a dance specific for the area and nobody knows where it came from.
  • Exploring the surroundings. Did you know that other than clubs, Ibiza has miles of diamond clear beaches? Some of them are private and belong to clubs or hotels but some of them are only visited by a few. Sunsets can be magical from those beaches and the view is breath-taking! We do recommend you to rent a yacht in Ibiza if you want to explore the island in it’s best.

  • Eat local food. Any area in the world has a unique taste. As weird as it sounds, think back and remember how many vacations do you remember by delicious dishes tasted there? Ibiza has to offer mostly Mediterranean food which is light, seductive and fresh! Olives grow best when there is enough sun and the fish is being prepared straight from the sea! I know we are not supposed to talk much about drinking but wine there is heavenly!
  • Rent a motorboat in Ibiza and go on an adventure. If you want to escape the islands rush for a couple of hours, you can always rent a motorboat and leave for a little while! As you rent the boat ask around about some good places where you can go, search for a quiet area and take a bath. After you take a bath enjoy the fruits you bought while reading your favorite book!

  • Outdoor activities are everywhere in Ibiza. Once you focus your attention on things that don’t include clubs and dancing, you see a completely different world around you. Some people are doing the bungee jumping and some are board paddling. On the other side, there are even a few who enjoy sailing. The possibilities are endless!

There are probably thousands of things you can do on this energetic island but these 5 we enjoy the most. Let your imagination run wild and think about the things you like the most and just go with the flow!

La Digue Island in Seychelles is one of the several smaller islands found in this Island nation. While there are no many major attractions in La Digue, the island is relatively the most visited one in Seychelles due to its ease of accessibility and has some of the best accommodation facilities. Besides, tourist facilities are well developed, and compared to Praslin or Mahe, the island is known to be much quieter, exclusive, and picturesque. The main reason why most visitors come to La Digue Island is to experience the popular L’anse Source D’argent. This is one of the best beaches in the world and a favorite for most people due to its exotic weathered pink granite rocks that stud the coastline alongside its many palms and sandy beaches.
There are a number of smaller islands located off the La Digue Island coast and they include Felicite Island, Marie Anne Island, Frigate Island, The Sisters, and Recif Island. Helicopter Seychelles serves a helipad which is the most commonly used method of entering the island. Ferries also commute several times in a day between La Digue Island and Praslin Harbor and visitors can also hire some boats as well even though they are quite expensive. La Digue Island is quite small and in fact, the island doesn’t need an extensive infrastructure as found in Pralin or Mahe. The island has just a small number of taxis and there are no car rental agencies. This results in extremely high prices for taxis and most visitors looking for cheaper options are advised to rent bikes which are quite affordable.
Most tourists opt to go for bicycle excursions which are quite more enjoyable and fun. The most visited areas are Ile de Cocos and Paradise Flycatchers for snorkeling. Others go as far as Praslin where they see the famous Coco der Mer which is a rare kind of coconut found in Seychelles. Shopping is also another interesting thing to do in La Digue Island and you will find a number of gift shops located all over the island. Most of them sell just the usual Seychelles gifts. However, one of the most shopped for items is the fresh vanilla beans which are offered at a fantastic price.
Restaurants in La Digue Island are generally many and offer a wide range of dishes ranging from curry to fish, rice, and pork. Western-style meals and seafood are also offered in some of the restaurants as well. Due to the small size of La Digue Island, not so many visitors will opt to spend a night on the island. Nevertheless, this doesn’t mean that the island is short of sleeping/ accommodation facilities. The only thing is that the antique hotels and guest houses are pretty expensive. As such, it is more advisable that you visit La Digue Island just for a day trip which is enough time for you to visit all the major sites. However, if you have an overnight event like a wedding, you can reserve a room in these hotels.

Mnemba Island is an ideal tropical haven for holidaymakers located off the Tanzanian coast within the Zanzibar Archipelago, directly opposite Matemwe Beach on Tanzania’s mainland coast. It is a tiny rectangular island with a circumference of fewer than two kilometers and it is surrounded by oval reef, which leads to it being incorrectly referred to as the Mnemba atoll. The Island is renowned throughout East Africa as a scuba diving site and it is popular since it houses a wide variety of corals and numerous other marine species. Snorkeling is not allowed within a radius of 200 meters from the island. It is a privately owned paradise for those ready to enjoy the pleasures this island has to offer.
When traveling from stone town on the main Zanzibar Island, it takes about a one and a half-hour drive than a boat crossing of about twenty more minutes. The boat ride allows you to experience the sight of the beauty of Mnemba Island from a far distance. Traveling to the Zanzibar archipelago is by either air where you land at the international airport on the main island or you travel by a cruise ship. The journey from the main island is adventurous if you love exploring different cultures, as here is where you first come face to face with the famous east African Swahili culture.
A true replica of a heavenly dwelling place, Mnemba island lodge that owns the island is designed beautifully and amazingly for the ultimate beach life experience. With only ten specious bands dotting the coastline of this gorgeous island, Mnemba Island Lodge is the sole accommodation facility on the island that can luxuriously host no more than twenty guests at a time.
The island is privately owned by the Mnemba island lodge, there is only one place to get a good meal: the lodge. However the setting and the variety of food served here will blow you away and more than compensate for the lack of variety of hotels. Dining on the beach every day is legendary here, the cool breeze, the warm water and the endless shed of the blue ocean water do nothing other than adding to your appetite. The fantastic kinds of seafood served by the Mnemba island lodge have no equal in east Africa. The food is delicious excellently served in a purely serene environment. The dining experience on Mnemba Island is nothing else but excellent.
Mnemba Island is an attraction in its entirety. A beautiful island surrounded by sparkling white sandy beaches and lovely forests. If you are a guest here, you can spend your day just lazing around on the beach or snorkeling along the coral reefs and perhaps explore the sea kayaks. However, if you love marine life, then diving would be your thing. You will however have to take a short boat ride out into the ocean to the coral reefs and have a go at exploring the wonderful marine life. You could also try your luck at spotting dolphins and turtles

As an island surrounded by awesomely sparkling white sand beaches and popular for fascinating water sports, high-end restaurants, clubbing, and glamorous nightlife; Boracay island is a true tropical paradise within the Philippines territory. Its captivating nightlife, well-developed water sports facilities that add color to the already spectacular beaches, Boracay island is surely a great tourist destination.
Located at about 350 kilometers from Manila in the Aklan province, Boracay is about an hour plane travel from both Manila and Cebu. The two main airports you are likely to use are Godofredo P. Ramos Airport or Kalibo Airport. You will then have to board a vehicle to the Caticlan Port where you will transfer to a ferry to reach Boracay Island.
Traveling within the island on short distances is mostly by tricycle vehicles, which in most cases act as taxis on the island. Long-distance travel is normally by the ordinary four-wheeled taxis. Motorboats also play a major role in transport on the island, especially if you would like to enjoy the scenic views of the Philippines islands from the ocean.
Though Boracay is known for its high-end hotels and resorts, you will be pleasantly surprised to find several simple but beautiful furnished bed and breakfast establishments for budget travelers. Remember to book your accommodation in advance especially during Christmas and New Year time, which is normally the peak season. The best places to find the best accommodation facilities are on the white beach, but if you want your peace of mind, avoid those establishments at the center, as that is the most crowded area. The northern part is more luxurious and not viable budget travelers whereas the south is fair, hence ideally economic if you are coming as a group.
To satisfy its ever-surging number of visitors, Boracay has developed a wide array of eateries that vary both in pricing and the dishes served. For instance, A1 Boracay is known to serve only the best-imported Italian Arabica coffee beans; Bamboo Lounge serves a good selection of Chinese food while Blue Jade Cafe is known to serve delicious Asian and European cuisine. You should therefore not worry about where to eat or drink, as you will always easily find a cafe or a joint that serves exactly the flavor you fancy.
There are numerous places to see and stuff to do for any typical tourist. You could start by visiting the white beach and enjoy walking on the sparkling white sand bear foot enjoy board skating or scuba dive. Baling Hai Beach is another interesting place to visit. In this quite cove north of Diniwid Beach, you will enjoy swimming, snorkeling, and even take a boat tour to enjoy the scenery.
Besides, visit the now-famous bat cave to see the small insectivorous bats. You can also go shopping in small shopping centers on the island. Here you are likely to find fresh fruits and vegetables, wines, and other manufactured drinks. Remember to also buy and pack bottled water for the safety of your health.

Cat Island is an island territory of the Bahamas. The island is popular for housing the highest land of the Bahamas nation, monasteries, and its historic backgrounds that contributed to the building of the country. Cat Island is situated in the central region of the Bahamas. It is not isolated as it has over a thousand people living in it, despite its small size that covers only forty miles in terms of length. However, the settlements on the island create a picture of a simple lifestyle.
The tourist resting sites are highly modern sites with leisure facilities. Cat Island got its name from the unique experiences that occurred within it. Out of true happening, the island was once a habitat for the feral cats, so the cats were the highest population in it. On the other hand, the island is suggested to have derived its name from its first European settler, Arthur Catt, who was a pirate in the 18th century.
Tailored towards being a tourist destination, the island has two actively operating airports. The New Bright and Arthur Town Airports connect the island to nearby Nassau and Fort Lauderdale in Florida using direct flights. Airplane is the common means of accessing Cat Island. Arthur Airport is located at Arthur Port.
Cat Island has appropriate accommodation facilities. However, the number of the facilities can be few during the peak season when there are too many tourists to spend their nights on the island. Thus, try to check into the inns as early as possible before you move in for the period ahead. The facilities can be friendly to your budget, but be prepared to meet smaller rooms that the size you may have thought of them.
Cat Island hosts high-end restaurants and hotels as eateries for people on leisure on the island. There are also groceries where you can stop to buy food recipes to use for cooking in the rental apartment f your choice. Dining in the eateries is generally expensive; not less than $25 for a meal, but the food is skillfully prepared and served in plenty unlike luxurious hotels in some countries that serve less for little food.
One of the places to go for excursions in Cat Island is the Alvernia Mountain. It bears many attractions from its unique geographical surroundings to the monastery that stands at the peak of the mountain. If you like mountain climbing, then it would be your chance to climb the mountain to reach the monastery and have a blazing of the massive surrounding landscape of the island.
Next to the mountain is an ancient attraction in the form of ruins of a once productive, large, agricultural land known as the Armbrister Plantation. From there, you can pass by the bubbling Boling Hole Lake, a natural breeding ground for sharks, and numerous species of birds that nest in the small mangrove forest close to the lake. It is also in Cat Island that you will find a strong glass-bottomed bridge. Crossing over it can be fearful but you get to see the ocean from the high glass ground.

Easter Island is a territory of the nation of Chile. The island lies in the Pacific Ocean, near Tahiti. It is often considered a sacred site, and it is one of the oldest historic sites in the world. Easter Island was initially a habitat for the Polynesian community, which gradually faded away over the centuries through cultural influences.
Easter Island is accessible by air and ship transport means. LAN Airlines operate international flights between Chile and many parts of the world. Thus, to be able to access Easter Island from abroad, you have to pass through the airport at Hanga Roa in nearby Chile. Think Florida and odds are you’ll think Disney World, Universal Orlando, Busch Gardens, and a string of other popular tourist hotspots. There’s no doubt that these are great attractions, ones that pull in visitors in their thousands year-round, but there’s much more to Florida than the hubbub of Orlando and Tampa.
If like me, you’re a repeat visitor to the Sunshine State you might be craving something a little more relaxed than roller coasters and thrill rides. I discovered the quiet and refined Anna Maria Island a few years back and I haven’t looked back since. With miles of pristine beaches and the balmy waters of the Gulf of Mexico lapping on its shores, Anna Maria is a world away from the tourist traps.
I recommend renting out one of the many breathtaking vacation rentals on the island and making Anna Maria your home away from home. Many vacation rentals have outstanding beach views and boat moorings.
Anna Maria Island is a beach lover’s paradise and there are several beaches to choose from, each with its distinct atmosphere. I’ll let you in on my favorites.
If I’m in a quiet mood, and looking for somewhere to relax in relative quiet before enjoying a dip in the ocean then I head on over to Anna Maria Beach. This huge stretch of sugar sand runs right around the northern tip of the island and offers a perfect spot for sunbathing and beachcombing ensuring a leisurely beach experience. There are no facilities to speak of, so this isn’t the best beach to visit if you’ve got a rowdy brood who need entertaining and ice-cream on tap. If that’s the case then my next pick will be for you.
Located in the City of Holmes Beach, Manatee Beach is the perfect location to take the family, or if you fancy something more energetic. With volleyball courts on hand you can get your blood pumping and do some socializing with the locals or other visitors. I find the playground a real gift when the kids are getting tired of building sandcastles as they can burn off some energy while I grab a much-needed drink from one of the concession stands. With restrooms and showers provided and just a short walk into Holmes Beach itself, it’s easy to spend the entire day here.
Down on the southern tip of Anna Maria lies Coquina Beach. Lined with lofty pine trees, Coquina offers some great surfing thanks to the tumbledown remnants of old piers and the natural break off-shore. Again this beach offers a full range of facilities, including grills where you can cook up some food for a picnic, but it’s large enough to ensure that you can find some seclusion if you want to on the northern stretch of the beach. In many ways Coquina beach combines the best aspects of Manatee and Anna Maria beaches.
What makes staying in a luxury vacation rental on Anna Maria Island so alluring to me, and many others is that no matter where you choose to stay on the island you’re never more than a stone’s throw from any of the glimmering beaches and clear blue water that is the island’s trademark. Try a visit to this bastion of Old Florida and you won’t be disappointed, in fact, I guarantee you’ll come back again and again.

The Falkland Islands is a group of an archipelago located in the South Atlantic Ocean and east of the South American mainland. The main islands are the West Falkland, East Falkland, and around seven hundred seventy-six smaller islands. Its capital city is called Stanley and is the only city located in East Falkland. The group of islands is being governed by the United Kingdom but neighboring country Argentina has also been claiming jurisdiction and has called the islands Islas Malvinas.
You can get to the Falkland Islands by plane and by boat. You can look online to find the cheapest flights and offers while planning your trip to the Falkland Islands.
By Plane:
Two airports are operating at the Falkland Islands. Mount Pleasant Airport caters to international flights and also functions as a military base. Among the international airlines that fly here is Lan Chile which has weekly flights from Santiago de Chile via Punta Arenas, Rio Gallegos, and the UK Royal Air Force that has flights carrying commercial passengers from Oxford shire. This eighteen-hour flight from the UK stops briefly at the Ascension Island.
The smaller airport 56 kilometers from Mount Pleasant is located in the capital city in Stanley. Falkland Island Tours and Travel has a shuttle bus from this airport that can take tourists to the main capital for £15.00 per person. Taxis are also available to take tourists around the capital.
By Boat:
Cruise ships usually make a stop at the Falkland Islands’ capital is Stanley throughout the summer. These boats can also make a stop at the other smaller islands but of course, be prepared to ride an inflatable boat as the cruise ship itself cannot land on the shores. There are also expedition ships on the way to Antarctica that has a stopover on the island.
In Stanley, while hotels are also available, most of the accommodations are of the bed and breakfast type. These pension houses normally offer homely accommodation with very hospitable innkeepers. You can also go camping but of course, permission from the landowners must be obtained first. Also, if you’re planning to go camping, make sure you’ve bought essential things such as food and water from the local market as most of the places are self-catering. Generally, it’s easy to find a place to stay in the capital city but it is still recommended to book in advance.
Aside from the wonderful scenery and gorgeous beaches, the Falkland Islands is a favorite destination for tourists wanting to see various animal species. Fauna conservation is a priority in the Falkland Islands; therefore expect to be awed by the diverse species that can be found here. Among the notable ones are the Falkland flightless steamer duck also called “logger duck” and the Striated Caracara also called “Johnny Rook”.
Other animal life that you can explore here are four species of seal, five species of penguin, petrels, albatross, geese, falcons, and hawks. Dolphins and porpoises can also be seen here along with the occasional sighting of whales. The terrain in the Falkland Islands is hilly and rocky while its coasts serve as good natural harbors. So if you’re headed to South America, remember to drop by this hidden paradise.
