The Central America country of Guatemala has Guatemala City as its national, administrative and economic capital. The city gained its capital statues in 1773 after a devastating earthquake completely destroyed the then capital, Antigua Guatemala.

Grytviken first gained popularity in 1915 when it was referred to as a whaling station. After Shackleton lost his ship known as Endurance in the waters after hitting a pack, Shackleton re- united with civilization in Grytviken, South Georgia.

In 2008, Gorge Town was designated as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and serves as the capital of the Cayman Islands. The city traces its historical beginnings in 1786 and having a population of 600, 000 inhabitants today, it is one of the largest and most populated cities in Malaysia.

Charlotte Amalie is famous for many things despite being the capital for administration in Virgin Islands. Most importantly, Charlotte Amalie is a deep sea water harbor where it is used as the port of call by many cruise ships. In fact, the number of cruise ship passengers that dock at Charlotte Amalie can be as high as 2 million in any given year.

Virgin Islands are characterized by a mountainous, rugged and hilly terrain and the area experiences occasional earthquakes from time to time. Recently, the Virgin Islands have been characterized by hurricanes and frequent floods and severe droughts.

Sint Maarten is shared between the French and the Dutch. Compared to Saint Martin, Sint Maarten is quite small and it has its capital at Philipsburg. The island is recognized as an independent state but it is still within Netherlands kingdom.

Saint Martin Island is on the Caribbean and it is just a small land mass. It has its capital city as Philipsburg which is used as a docking port for most of the ships. The other cities are Marigot ad Grand Case city that is notable for its rather excellent restaurants and tourist facilities.

Bonaire, Saint Eustatius and Saba islands are in Caribbean in the eastern side of Central America and border Venezuela to the northern sides. These islands are administered as special municipalities but are integrated fully in Netherlands.

Marigot is located on the island of Saint Martin that is split between Saint Martin Island at the French and Sint Maarten in Dutch territory. Other cities on the island neighboring Marigot are Philipsburg which is the major dock for most of the cruise ships and also capital for Dutch side as well as the Grande Case city where you will find some of the excellent restaurants on the island.

The island of Guam sits on North Pacific Ocean and it is situated just close to Philippines and Hawaii. In the archipelago of Marina islands, Guam is the southernmost and largest one and it is an overseas territory of USA.
