The Republic of Suriname, or more commonly referred as Suriname, is the smallest sovereign nation in South America. It is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean to the north, Brazil to the south, French Guiana to the east, and Guyana to the west.

Lying on the equator, Ecuador has a Pacific Ocean coastline and surrounded by Colombia in the north and Peru in the south. Along with Chile, this is the only country that does not share a border with Brazil.

Peru is a South American country bordered by Ecuador in the north, Brazil and Bolivia in the west, Chile in the south, and the South Pacific Ocean in the west. Probably most well-known for its rich pre-Columbian culture encompassing the Norte Chico civilization and the Inca Empire, Peru is also blessed with scenic natural landscapes thanks to the long stretch of Andes Mountains and the Amazon jungle.

Uruguay is the second-smallest country in South America, facing the South Atlantic Ocean and surrounded by Brazil to the North and Argentina to the west. Majority of the population of the country is of European descent.

Bordered by the Andes Mountains to the east and the Pacific Ocean to the west, Chile is a long strip of narrow land sharing borders with Argentina and Bolivia. Many tourists enter Chile through its major international airport.

Venezuela is a tropical country located at the northern tip of South America. It is surrounded by Guyana to the east, Brazil to the south, and Colombia to the west. From the Andes Mountains located in the western part of the country to the Amazon River, Venezuela is a state known to have a remarkably high biodiversity.
