Michigan, USA

Michigan is the center of the Great Lakes region and one of the most beautiful states in the upper Midwest of the USA. The state owns the most number of lighthouses in the country, not to mention that it also plays host to about 12,000 inland lakes and miles and miles of coastlines. The rich and fertile land of Michigan paves to the abundance of cherries, blueberries, peaches, and apples, and its vineyards are one of the major producers of wine in the country. With all these features Michigan takes pride in, the state has become one of the prime tourist destinations of the country. 
Nature has been good to Michigan at is it peppered with breathtaking natural scenery not seen anywhere else. The beauty of Michigan is above the ordinary, so diverse that there is that appeals to every discriminating traveler. From dunes to beaches, from farmlands and lakes, there will never be a dull moment in exploring all Michigan’s corners.  
The Upper Peninsula has most of the state’s splendid natural assets such as the Porcupine Mountains, Mackinac Island, Pictured Rocks, Tahquamenon Falls, Isle Royal, and the Seney National Wildlife Refuge. The Lower Peninsula, on the other hand, is where the majestic dunes are seen such as the world-known Sleeping Bear Dunes. Here in the region lies Huron and Manistee National Forests, numerous rivers and inland lakes. In the north part of the state, the ‘’changing leaves’’ is a famous attraction no tourists dare miss. 
Being the home of the Great Lakes allows awesome outdoor adventures such as motor-boating, sailing, fishing, canoeing, swimming, and beach lounging. There are substantial waves now and then coming from Lake Michigan, very ideal for those who are surf neophytes. When winter comes, the region is blanketed with ice and snow that encourages fishing through the ice. The Grand Traverse region of Michigan becomes busy during this time of the year due to its downhill ski areas ideal for cross country skiing. 
There are many big and small towns in Michigan; all with unique features it calls it’s own. Lansing, for instance, is where the State Capitol Building is sitting, while Detroit is the center for culture, entertainment, shopping, dining, and casinos. There are also various sports stadiums for Detroit’s four professional teams: the Tigers for baseball, the Lions for American football, the Red Wings for hockey, and the Pistons for basketball. 
Michigan is a tourist destination packed with sceneries and attractions worth visiting, and culture and tradition worth taking part with. When visiting the state, the itinerary must be carefully planned to not miss out on any of its captivating spots. What is also great about the Michigan escapade is that it could be the gateway to an extended adventure, as the state is close to some of the country’s tourist destinations such as Ohio, Wisconsin, and Minnesota.
