Recently we have been seeing so many articles online about exotic countries and cities. We felt that there is a need for something else, something like a peaceful, historically rich city where you can not only learn something but also rest your eyes and feed your soul! As we were thinking what place could that be, it just came to us-it must be Budapest! Why? Stay with us and you will shortly find out!

There are more than 100 sights in Budapest which you can enjoy! Starting from the great Buda castle where you can truly feel how royalty felt to the downtown where there are always people buzzing and music playing. Whether you are interested in history or modern activities, Budapest can offer both!

We made a shortlist of things you shouldn’t miss while in Hungarian capital city but now as we look back, this list could never end.

First of all, Budapest has 14 beautifully decorated bridges, almost all from different eras and all dedicated to someone or something else. Danube River divides this amazing city and there is one thing you must too! Ask around the river bank and you will see there are countless boats, all offering day and night short cruises on the Danube. Our warmest advice is to just go for the night cruise, especially if you have already seen Budapest during the day. If you choose the night tour you will be offered food and drinks but forget about that. Focus on what is on both shores and once your eye catches the shore you will be magnetized! We shall say no more than-those city lights made us fall in love with the city!

There are many more activities you can do on the river but the most delicious food is on the city streets! Hungarians are known for spicy and rich food so if you are in the mood for the perfectly prepared meet, go and taste goulash! The beef has been soaking and cooking in delicious spices for hours and when you bite it, it just melts in your mouth and the potato just screams to take it! Làngos is something you also need to taste and give us your opinion on it. For desert try Dobos cake and if you enjoy food and specialties from all over the world, you will love Budapest!

No matter what is the reason for your visit to Hungary or Budapest, have in mind that you will always be welcome, safe, rested, and satisfied. After long days at work and even longer commutes home, what more can a person expect but enjoy a beautiful city with even kinder people!

Saudi has just opened up its borders to tourism for the first time ever. Find out the best places to travel to and get your Saudi Arabia Visa here.

The realm has also sworn to loosen up its strict clothing standards for female guests and to permit ladies to go to the nation unaccompanied.

This is all piece of the countries push for financial change, so as to diminish its reliance on oil – however, it is likewise an endeavor to rebrand itself in the midst of an analysis of its human rights record, including a year ago’s the homicide of Saudi writer Jamal Khashoggi, and crackdowns on ladies’ privileges activists.

Saudi Arabia opens up to outside voyagers

There are likewise a few admonitions. Ladies will at present need to dress unassumingly in broad daylight, and non-Muslims will in any case be taboo from visiting the sacred urban areas of Mecca and Medina.

So what can Saudi’s new voyagers hope to see?

Al Wahbah volcanic pit

In the desert, approximately 250 km (155 miles) away from the city of Taif, is Al Wahbah – an enormous volcanic hole with a salt field in its middle.

Al Wahbah has gotten mainstream with explorers as of late, in spite of the fact that it is a test. As the pit is 820 ft profound, it takes skilled climbers around a few hours to get down to the base and back up once more.

For those seeking after something somewhat less dynamic, it is likewise a well known outdoor spot.

The old city of Mada’in Saleh

Mada’in Saleh was the second biggest city of the Nabateans, a gathering of individuals who settled across old Arabia and the Jordan Valley until their realm was added by the Romans in 106 CE.

Presently, among the remains are a huge necropolis with 130 burial places, little pre-Islamic special stepped areas, and some adobe houses – structures produced using earth – in what used to be the city’s living quarters.

Mada’in Saleh was assigned a Unesco World Heritage Site in 2008 – the main site in Saudi Arabia to get this honor.

Notable Jeddah and the Gate to Mecca

Another Unesco World Heritage Site is the Gate to Mecca, situated in Historic Jeddah.

In the seventh Century CE, Jeddah was built up as both a significant port for Indian Ocean exchange courses and the section point for Muslim travelers who showed up via ocean on their way to the strict city of Mecca.

Masmak Fortress in Riyadh

Masmak Fortress in the Saudi capital Riyadh was first worked in around 1865 – yet it is most notable for what happened 37 years after the fact.

In 1902, the banished imperial, Abdulaziz receptacle Abdul Rahman canister Faisal Al Saud, came back to his hereditary old neighborhood Riyadh and held onto this post.

Based at Masmak, he proceeded to vanquish the various realms of the area, before in the end-joining them to frame what is currently the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Ruler Fahd’s Fountain

Ruler Fahd’s Fountain in Jeddah is supposed to be the tallest wellspring on the planet.

Traditionalist assessments state the wellspring, which was given to the city by the late King Fahd, can shoot salt water up to 853 ft (260 meters) high – albeit a few evaluations put this more like 1,000 ft.

Around evening time, it is lit up by in excess of 500 bright lights.

Umluj – otherwise known as the Saudi Maldives

The sandy seashores of Umluj – regularly alluded to as the Saudi Maldives – are on the nation’s Red Sea coast.

From the seashore you can see mountains and latent volcanoes, while there are mango cultivates close by.

Neolithic craft of Jubbah and Shuwaymis

As indicated by Unesco there was at one time a lake close to these stone developments, which made it a significant social occasion spot for people and creatures.

While here our Neolithic predecessors left their imprint, as these drawings on the stone essences of Jubbah and Shuwaymis.

How is it to visit Saudi Arabia?

James Merriman – from Barnstaple, England – visited Riyadh in 2014 on a three-day travel visa.

“I visited Masmak Fortress, some portion of old Riyadh. Inside is a little historical center that incorporates photographs of old Riyadh from the mid-twentieth century. Close by is Deira Square which is the fundamental open square of the city. It does, be that as it may, have a progressively vile use for the area where open executions are done, henceforth it’s moniker ‘slash hack square’.

“Current Riyadh is about fantastic shopping centers and huge high rises arranged on the fabulous King Fahd Road. The Kingdom Center is the biggest (the structure with a hole at the top like a jug opener). Travelers can visit the perception work area at the top for great perspectives over the city.

“The best perspectives on Riyadh around evening time are from the close by Faisaliah Tower. From the top you are blessed to receive an exquisite perspective on the Kingdom Center pinnacle lit up in various hues. Yet, as it’s an open-deck seeing stage it’s breezy!

“For those needing to attempt neighborhood cooking, local people like to eat camel meat. I would portray it like lamb however greasier. I favored the fantastic neighborhood dates and the reviving non-alcoholic milk drinks.”

3 Reasons to Visit Morocco https://www.tourist-destinations.com/2020/07/3-reasons-to-visit-morocco.html Fri, 03 Jul 2020 07:55:54 +0000 https://www.tourist-destinations.com/?p=30254 Morocco is one if not the most exciting country we have ever been to. Want to know why? Because it is a true representation of the old world adapted to the new one.

The post 3 Reasons to Visit Morocco appeared first on Tourist Destinations.

]]>
What is the most exotic place you have ever been to? Do we mean the most excentric, vibrant, and exciting at the same time? For us, it was without any doubt Morocco which we just came back from. It was hard trying to write this article since all the memories still haven’t set properly and we don’t know where to start which is why we will give you 3 reasons why you should visit the nearest agency and book your next trip.

 • As we have already said, Morocco is one if not the most exciting country we have ever been to. Want to know why? Because it is a true representation of the old world adapted to the new one. It is one of the most developed and stable regions of North Africa and it invests a lot into tourism. If you want to know more, visit a Morocco travel agency, and you can find the best offers and Morocco tours you can choose from and it is always being updated. It is not one of those places that you go to, look around and you have done it all. Here you need to try riding a camel or eating a spicy dish so you can say you have experienced it to the fullest.

 • Nowhere in the world you can see such vibrant colors and hear such exotic music everywhere you look around. The best time to visit it is spring or fall because the temperatures are not too extreme and it all gets alive. People are out on the streets, the stores are all open and Casablanca, Moroccan most famous city has the most to offer at that period of the year. Movie tours, a movie like restaurants and scenery is the main reason that made us decide to write this article. One word of advice, don’t choose the most expensive restaurant. Choose the one hidden from our sight where all the locals eat because there you can try the most authentic tagine, harira, and bastilla. We are sure you don’t know what these dishes are and you don’t need to know it before you hit Moroccan streets!

 • Last but in no case least is the culture. It is probably different than most other cultures you came across but. Be inspired because they truly value great things. They will respect you, make you feel welcome and safe, and most of all, they will teach you their culture if you show some interest in it. You will find out why exactly women wear hijab, why men can have more than one woman, and respect them all equally and that their religion is based on the same principals as any other.

The reasons wee mentioned above may not be what you were looking for. We talked to you from the heart and told you what we thought was most important because all else you can find out at the scene. These things above are valuable to know and maybe even remember but if you think there is something more important for people to know about Morocco, we can’t wait to hear your opinion!

One country such as this is Canada, the cold land on the north with the warmest hearts!

Canada is visited by millions of people each year and many of them end up coming back at least one more time so we thought there had to be a good reason for that. So, we began our investigation by buying a plane ticket to Toronto. Without knowing what to expect as we land, we packed our cases and went for it. Little did we know that we are about to meet the kindest, most welcoming people. Canadians seem to be on a special mission and it is to get you to love them and their country and it was successful.

First of all, we fell in love with the richest nature in the world. Every tree has its place and purpose and it is loved and well kept. Second, comes the food and drinks. It is that type of soul-melting food that helps you endure the cold outside and it seems to be the best choice for what you are about to face. And it is the third thing we want to mention the outdoor activities! Rich food is needed not only because of the low temperatures but also because of never-ending walks and adrenalin sports! You can choose anything from hiking to paragliding and even waterskiing. Depending on the season, Canada has many activities to offer!

What we loved the most is the IEC Canada has to offer! What is that, you are wondering? Well, Working Holiday Visa Canada can provide is a part of a special program where you get to experience the country at its fullest! You can work with this type of visa for up to two years and travel at the same time. You can do thousands of different jobs depending on your qualifications and you get paid regularly. Isn’t this amazing? Why don’t you recommend your friend as well? Imagine working and traveling with your best friend abroad and discovering new places, meeting new people and simply enjoying life while learning and earning!

To sum it all up, Canada is a land full of opportunities and it should be appreciated as such! Have you met this queen of the north or are you planning to? If you are still hesitating please stop! Pack your bags as soon as you can and keep moving!

Mexico is a very famous tourist destination and like any other, it has some more and some less popular places when it comes to tourism. But, what we learned recently is that less popular doesn’t necessarily mean less interesting! This is why we decided to tell you a thing or two about Bacalar, Mexico.

Bacalar is a smaller, quieter place and what it is most known for is that beautiful, blue, crystal clear lagoon! It is sometimes called The Maldives of Mexico but it is much more affordable. Having said that, you can enjoy more days in Bacalar for half the price you should pay in the Maldives. Interesting, right? But, this perfect lagoon is not the only thing Bacalar has to offer!

Things to do in Bacalar vary upon your needs and aspirations. You can often see on Traveldicted how small, quiet places tend to be the most unique and exciting so let’s explore it!

First of all, there are great water sports there and if you know what you are doing, it comes down to pure adrenaline! Imagine kayaking around that beautiful lagoon we mention and seeing sea wildlife just carrying on with their life under you? The water is so clear that you can see the smallest sea creature and wonder: What is it like having so much freedom?

As you walk around all curious you might stumble upon a San Felipe Fort which represents an important part of Bacalar history. What you can also visit is Cenote Cocalitos, a peaceful place with a small restaurant on the shore that serves freshly caught fish and naturally grown vegetables! If you make friends in Bacalar, they might end up revealing some more secret places to you and if they do, please share!

The Pirates Channel Shipwreck is also well known on the tourism map off Bacalar. It is interesting to visit because you can hear some interesting stories and take breathtaking photos! The shipwreck in this famous channel is partly covered in threes so you might even climb it and look around!

One of the top restaurants in Bacalar is La Playita which has the usual Mexican specialties on the menu that are made differently! When we say different we mean with love and passion which can be felt in every taste! Don’t miss out on the homemade guacamole!

The Cenote Azul is only 4 kilometers from the city center but it is the best way to snorkel and explore the caves underneath the shore. As much as it looks great, don’t go alone and always have in mind that those caves may be home to some underwater friend!

Bacalar suddenly sounds interesting, right? If you have already been there please let us know which places and activities you discovered so we could fulfill our list and help others experience their visit to the fullest!

5 reasons you should visit Croatia https://www.tourist-destinations.com/2020/06/5-reasons-you-should-visit-croatia.html Wed, 24 Jun 2020 13:55:40 +0000 https://www.tourist-destinations.com/?p=30240 This short story begins and ends in one special place-Croatia. It is a country held dear to our hearts and it is where we ate the best, slept the best, and heard the best stories!

This short story begins and ends in one special place-Croatia. It is a country held dear to our hearts and it is where we ate the best, slept the best, and heard the best stories! So, without further ado, here are 5 reasons why you should visit Croatia and maybe add a couple of more reasons.

 • For many years there have been tales that kept people alive, on the edge and always looking for an adventure. Those tales are called legends and in Croatia, there are simply so many of them that even people born there haven’t heard half. But we never refused to hear another one being told by an old man with a grey beard, sitting in his boat that is slowly drifting away in the distance. This reason itself feels like a legend or at least a story. Croatian culture and history are full of great legends and only God knows which ones are true and which are just helping children sleep at night or behave. Don’t know about you, but we appreciate a great story!

 • Cycling, paragliding, and other air sports, kayaking, golfing, diving or you name it! There has not been an activity we thought of that Croatia lacked to offer! Walking and hiking is the most basic but it can make many great memories only from soaking in the best views and discovering new trails. If all of the activities sound too dangerous for the children (which they probably are) then you must visit one of the aquaparks. Almost any region in Croatia has its own but we would warmly recommend Istralandia or Dalmatia Aquapark.
 • It would be a true shame if you didn’t go sailing between thousands of Croatian islands. Yes, there are that many, and almost all of them are approachable and ready to welcome you. Sailing holidays Croatia has to offer can sometimes get a bit pricy but nothing out of the ordinary for the amount of enjoyment!

 • The hospitality of Croatian people is widely known. As much as you are wondering why we put such reason in this article you will realize it yourself as soon as you step foot on its land. Has it ever happened that you are looking for a direction and someone just takes your hand softly and takes you to the place you are looking for? That is where we felt warmer than at home and it is why this reason is so important!
 • As unusual as it is, we won’t reveal number five. It is very special to us but we want you to make it your own. Go, visit Croatia as soon as you can and write to us what number 5 should be. Maybe it will inspire us to go there once more?

Canada’s tourism industry creates and supports over 1.8 million jobs each year. If you are looking for a getaway that is both affordable and fun, then choosing to visit one of the many iconic cities in Canada is a great idea. Properly planning your vacation to Canada is essential when trying to have a great time.

Perhaps the most popular Canadian tourist destination is Montreal. This modern city is filled with great architecture and lots of fun attractions you and your family will love. If you are like most people, you don’t want to stick out like a sore thumb. Here are some of the things you can do when trying to blend in as a tourist in the iconic city of Montreal.

Rent a Car

One of the most touristy things you can do while in Montreal relies on public transport to get from point A to point B. Not only are these modes of public transport filled with other tourists, but they can also be extremely slow. Instead of having a bad time due to a bad bus or subway experience, you need to think about renting a car.

Being able to drive around Montreal and learn the various routes to the hotspots in town can be a lot of fun. With a car, you will be able to experience Montreal like one of the locals. If you are looking for a great deal on a high-quality rental car, then be sure to check out Globe Car & Truck rental in Montreal.

Visit Restaurants Frequented By Montreal Locals

During your time in Montreal, you need to focus on sampling some of the great cuisines in this area. While there are a number of tourist-trap restaurants in Montreal, there are also some great local spots that offer fine dining and farm to table options.

Restaurants like BEVO are known all over Montreal due to the great wood-burning pizza options they have. If you are in the mood for a good steak, then Gibbys is a great option. This restaurant is located in a 200-year-old building. The old school vibe and delicious food make this a must-see for any foodie taking a trip to Montreal.

Choose Attractions That Are Off the Beaten Path

Another important decision you have to make when planning a trip to Montreal is what attractions you want to visit. Bogota, Colombia – Things to know https://www.tourist-destinations.com/2020/06/bogota-colombia-things-to-know.html Fri, 12 Jun 2020 09:16:09 +0000 https://www.tourist-destinations.com/?p=30225 As the capital city of Colombia, Bogota is one of the most touristically developed cities in the region. The post Bogota, Colombia – Things to know appeared first on Tourist Destinations.

]]>
How much do you appreciate your free time and what do you like spending it on the most? Those couple of weeks of vacation seem so precious that we always spend it traveling abroad. Despite all that’s being said about this city, Bogota stole our hearts away and promised to return it when we come back again!

As the capital city of Colombia, Bogota is one of the most touristically developed cities in the region. How so, you may ask? Well, let’s put it like this- there is not much left to improve on an already beautiful city. It is not only a vacation for the soul but the eyes as well which we truly appreciated! In the next few paragraphs, we hope you will fall in love with it as much as we did so we can later share memories and experiences.

Always the first thing for the us-the region. Vibrant colors, exciting streets, and loud but happy music are what used to surround us daily in Bogota. Whether it is the main Carrera street or just some side ally hidden from the curious looks of the tourists, you will get what you were looking for beauty! Sure, we also heard that it is all but safe in Bogota, but if you follow the main rules they give you upon arrival you won’t have any trouble! Yes, it is that easy!

The next step is the accommodation. Bogota vacation rentals are to die for! Not only the price but the whole package is out of this world. When you look at the photos of some of the rentals what you expect to hear is a three-digit number or even more. Not a lot of time passes until you realize that for that price you can be living like a king there!

There is also one warning we need to issue! If you are currently on a diet do not, we repeat do not visit Bogota! It is one of the worst places in the world to watch out on your calorie intake because those colors and tastes are heavenly! There are also some types of fruit we weren’t able to name! Imagine that! Ajiaco black folks fish or bandeja paisa is one of the most famous dishes but if you manage to explore the cuisine more than we did, we expect you to reveal your secrets!

If you want to know (and we wanted to know) what your daily budget should be, it depends on what you expect out of it! For example, for 20$ you can easily get by and just for a little bit more, you can enjoy restaurants, museums, attractions and the rest. Pretty awesome, isn’t it?

If there is anything that we missed or you want to know about Bogota, please let us know! We are looking forward to hearing your opinion and experience as soon as you return from your well-deserved trip!

How Covid-19 transformed the travel market https://www.tourist-destinations.com/2020/06/how-covid-19-transformed-the-travel-market.html Sat, 06 Jun 2020 11:46:27 +0000 https://www.tourist-destinations.com/?p=30216 As governments close borders and travelers cancel their trips, many companies in this niche are downsizing and even shutting down. So, what exactly is going on in the travel niche?

The post How Covid-19 transformed the travel market appeared first on Tourist Destinations.

]]>
Travelpayouts has analyzed how the entire travel niche has undergone major changes since the emergence of COVID-19.

As governments close borders and travelers cancel their trips, many companies in this niche are downsizing and even shutting down. So, what exactly is going on in the travel niche?

Aviation

Airlines are suffering major losses, as travel came to a standstill in much of the world with 93% of the population living in countries with travel restrictions due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Scheduled flights are down by 70%, compared to the same week last year, apart from cargo-only flights. Aviation took the largest hit in Singapore, Hong Kong, UK, Spain, France, Germany, Sweden, and India (around 90% flight cancellation rate).

Naturally, this has implications for air carriers. Many of them are downsizing or laying off crew for several months. Some carriers, such as Delta, are experiencing 90% revenue losses compared to last year.

Due to health concerns, airlines are introducing changes to the way they operate their services. On Lufthansa flights, middle seats are left empty for the purpose of social distancing, and EasyJet is planning to do the same as soon as it restarts flights. Delta provides crews with a 19-point cleanliness checklist for cabin disinfection and is installing air-circulation systems with air filters into its aircrafts.

Hospitality

Changes in the hotel industry is undergoing are different for each region. For example, hotel occupancy rates hit rock bottom in Italy (4% in Milan and 6.6% in Rome), while other European countries faced an average drop in occupancy rates of 61.6% to 26.3%, compared to 70% to 100% under normal conditions. The highest rates were witnessed in Sydney (48.5%) and Los Angeles (42.5%).

To withstand this challenge, hotels felt compelled to temporarily close their properties. For example, IHG closed 10% of its hotels in the United States and 50% of its portfolio in Europe, Asia (excluding China), the Middle East, and Africa. Marriott temporarily shut down 25% of its properties. However, on a global scale, the picture is rather optimistic, as only 2% of the global hotel supply has been closed, according to Bernstein research.

Hotels are introducing new hygiene regimes to assuage the concerns of guests. For example, Hilton announced plans to implement its own cleaning standards, while Marriott is developing hospital-grade electrostatic sprayers.

Authorities throughout the world are trying to provide the niche with assistance. The UK government granted access to loans worth over $407 million. France provided corporate income tax deferrals, while China granted travel vouchers and aid so that hotels can provide special rates and attract more guests.

Other travel sectors will recover at their own pace, as they are confronting different challenges. Thus, United Airlines expects “demand to remain suppressed for the remainder of 2020 and likely into next year,” while Delta estimates that it might take up to three years for the business to regain the lost ground. In general, executives believe that planes will be able to fly at full capacity no earlier than one year, as travelers will remain cautious after the pandemic is over.

Chip Rogers from the American Hotel and Lodging Association expects the U.S. hotel industry to return to 70% of its former level in one year, but there will be fewer rooms and staff members. He also believes that hotels will open the moment they are allowed to. Bjorn Hanson believes that room rates will remain relatively cheap and there will be discount offers galore for months or even years to come.

The cruise niche, no stranger to incidents and shutdowns, is betting on the loyalty and flexibility of customers. Virginia Sheridan, a managing partner at North America Travel, expects cruise lines to merge and even sell off ships, but not disappear. Though many bookings have been canceled for 2020, the number of cruise reservations for 2021 is already higher than in 2019.

Moreover, ships can be moved to regions that are recovering faster than others and new itineraries can be created. Paul Hackwell from TPG Capital says it typically takes one year for the industry to return to normal, but a multiyear bounce back is still possible in this case.
