When to Visit

“Arts in the Park” is a favorite event in Atlantic Beach, held annually at the end of April. More than 80 local and regional artists gather at the Park Terrace east & West of Seminole Road to display their unique artworks, most of which are on sale. The seaside community becomes filled with acoustic musicians and arrays of sumptuous edibles. Unlike other festivities, Arts in the park is a relaxing event, where guests can simply stretch out on the lawn and relax under music. The Annual Marshfest is hosted by the cities of Jacksonville and Atlantic Beach every November. Thousands gather at Dutton Island preserves for the festivities, which have been pioneered by the Marsh Preservation Society. Every third Thursday of the month, tourists can partake in the North Beaches’ Art Walk, which pops on different themes and unique contests. Guests can choose from painting a minibus art car or join the wildest flip-flop contest.

Things to Do

Atlantic Beach’s shores are perfect for building sand castles, sunbathing, fishing, boating, waterskiing, snorkeling, and swimming activities, but all that’s too cliché. Guests can instead visit Atlantic Beach’s largest park, which can be found by the stretch of Dutton Island Drive. Dutton Island Park has more than 9,000 feet of fishing and viewing piers, nature trails, kayak launches, camping areas, parking spaces, picnic venues, and pavilions. Guests should try the kayak tours and rentals offered by the Nautical Escapes.
