Baltimore is the home of the Star Spangled Banner, as it is in this city where Francis Scott Key wrote each and every meaningful line of the song. Sitting in a stunning region in Maryland, in the Mid-Atlantic of America, Baltimore has all the valid reasons to be called the state’s major tourist destination. With welcoming and friendly people, impeccable climate, energetic nightlife, network of restaurants and plethora of attractions, Baltimore is definitely a place you should see and discover.

For lively happenings, you must be within the premises of Baltimore Harbor and there you will find live entertainment and jazz performers in different corners. The harbor is also home to Baltimore’s family-oriented attractions including Maryland Science Center which has displays that captivate the mind of the children through interactive and educational exhbits;  and the gigantic National Aquarium, a home to almost 16,000 sea creatures and an attraction that draws millions of visitors per year. There are also museums found in the harbor, like the Historic Ships in Baltimore and the American Visionary Art Museum.  If you are interested in learning about the important African-American history, you should visit the Great Blacks in Wax Museum, where art is used in narrating its interesting past. Just near the harbor’s area, there is the Reginald F. Lewis Museum of Black History, another site that highlights the early days of African-American.


The Inner Harbor, another destination you should not dare miss, mostly comprised of historic attractions. Inner Harbor takes pride of the star-shaped Fort McHenry, known for its role as Baltimore’s defendant during the British navy attack in 1814. It is during these times when the Star Spangled Banner, written by Sir Francis Scott Key, was born. Once done in exploring the Inner Harbor, be ready to go to the Federal Hill, a quaint and laid-back neighborhood which has the best spot in viewing the beauty of the Inner Harbor. Here, you can have a relaxing stroll and a fun time visiting its antique shops, sports centers, and quirky restaurants.  Contributing to the inviting assets of Baltimore is the Maryland Zoo which sits in the historic Druid Hill Park. What makes you excited to see the zoo is your chance to get near to rare and wild animals which is about 1,500 all in all.

The city celebrates different events to suit different subjects and interests.
