Puerto Banus, Spain

Located in Nueva Andalucia area of Marbella, Spain at Costa del Sol, Puerto Banus was developed in 1970. The luxurious marina has since then been one of the most visited shopping complexes, mostly frequented by the famous and rich. It was developed in a Mediterranean architectural style around a local coastal village. Travelers visiting Puerto Banus enjoy a unique fare of extraordinary and expensive restaurants, bars and shopping malls.
The marina is also studded with numerous luxury yachts for both famous and rich and interior streets have impressive patios and archways. Travelers to Puerto Banus are served by the Malaga Airport. A good transport network majorly comprising of roads also connects Puerto Banus to the nearby suburbs and towns.
As highlighted above, Puerto Banus is majorly associated with the rich and famous but this doesn’t mean that other travelers can’t visit the place. A day at Puerto Banus is largely characterized by sights of luxurious cars like Ferrari and Aston Martin collections. On every Saturday, the Puerto Banus Street Market attracts large crowds of people and makes the area even livelier. In fact, this is among the largest markets that you can find on Costa del Sol where all kinds of products are sold.
This is a perfect place to do some shopping as you will buy the likes of shoes, crafts, bags, flowers, furniture, paintings, fruit and vegetables, antiques and clothes. You can also make great bargains with the sellers and even if you won’t be buying anything, it is still a great place to walk around and just enjoy others making bargains in the rather exciting atmosphere. However, crime rates at the market are relatively high especially in summer and you should watch out for your money and bags. Also, carry some sunscreen and hats to protect you from the sun as well.
Streets in Puerto Banus are characterized by luxurious and expensive boutiques such as Christian Dior, Versace, Bvlgari, Dolce & Gabbana, Valentino and Hacket. Swimwear and handbags can be bought in these boutiques that are frequented mostly by buyers in expensive cars. Situated on Marina front, News Café is a perfect place to get some excellent servings of English breakfasts and probably visit a club at night. Another reasonably priced place to get some meal servings is the Hard Rock Café Marbella and other famous restaurants include Red Pepper, Don Leone, and Chateau Mona Lisa where extensive cocktail menus are served.
