Delhi is the capital city of India and is a leading world-class city with sound strengths in commerce, arts, entertainment, education, healthcare, fashion, finance, professional services, media, research and development, transport and tourism alongside other factors that contribute to the prominence of this great city. 
When planning a visit, you can get all the information you need from the Delhi tourist office which has very helpful staff. One of the hottest tourist sights in Delhi is Red Fort, a sandstone fort that was built by Emperor Shah Jahan, the man who also built the Taj Mahal in Agra. The city has world-renowned buildings including the Chatta Chowk, Diwan i-Am, Hayat Baksh Bagh, and Rang Mahal alongside other great buildings. 
South Delhi is home to Humayun’s tomb which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is open for both foreigners and Indians and the large tomb is located on well-maintained gardens. The Qutub complex is a great complex structure in Mehrauli which is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site with immaculate, excellent gardens that offer a great spot for picnics and relaxation.
Other famous structures in Delhi include Qutub Minar, Quwwat-ul-Islam Mosque, Iron Pillar, Ala-i-Darwaza, and the famous Imam Zamin tomb. Delhi has several museums as well which are great tourist attractions to the city starting with the Kiran Nadar Museum of Art which is a private museum where contemporary and modern Indian works are preserved. There is also the Gandhi Smriti which is the martyrdom site of the famous Mahatama Gadhi.
The India Habitat Centre is not a museum as such but is highly popular for its unique art exhibits, films, and plays. Other Delhi attractions are such as the International Doll’s Museum, the National Museum, Tibet House, and others. The city also has several monuments including Rajpath, India Gate, Jantar Mantar, and Raj Ghat all of which have interesting stories to learn. Parks and gardens are also found here such as the Lodhi garden and Nehru park. Delhi is also a worship center with several religious buildings like the Chattarpur Mandir, Baha I Lotus Temple, Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, Gurudwara Sis Ganji, St. Peter Cathedral and others.
As far as things to do in Delhi are concerned, you can have a walking city tour for half-day, enjoy a walk at the Connaught place, visit the National Zoological Park, and have a Delhi Food Tour. Delhi is also home to world-famous universities like JNU, JMI. DU, IIT, and IGNOU. Delhi is also a shopping heaven featuring shopping emporiums and western-styled malls. The Connaught place is a famous shopping bazaar in Delhi just like the Paharganj market, Kamla Nagar, Rajouri Garden market, etc.
While Delhites are ever complaining of many things, their food is one of the most satisfying eateries you can have during your travel. The many restaurants serve delicious Indian cuisines and mutton, chicken and vegetarian dishes are common with sea dishes being rare.
